HGTV’s cameras were on site at Heritage Lane Historic Homes in April of 2006 to shoot footage for HGTV’s Restore America, a partnership between HGTV and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The dwellings, located on East 105th Street between Wade Park and Ashbury Avenues in Glenville, were selected to receive a $75,000 grant awarded to Famicos Foundation, and be featured in a public service announcement, as well as a thirty-second video to be aired on HGTV and featured on the network’s popular website, HGTV.com.
The rehabilitation of the Heritage Lane Historic Homes is a piece of a redevelopment plan designed to be a catalyst for the transformation of the Glenville area into a competitive, economically integrated neighborhood. Ten additional residential structures will also be renovated in the city’s National Register Historic District.

HGTV’s Restore America initiative focuses on the role preservation plays in the revitalization of America’s communities. For the 2006-2007 year, HGTV has donated $1 million to help fund the selected communities’ revitalization projects with grants ranging from $25,000 to $100,000. In addition, each site also received exposure through on-air and online content from HGTV.
